Mindful & Meaningful Gift Ideas for the Holidays!

Mindful and Meaningful Gift Ideas that Everyone will LOVE… even your kids!

mindful and meaningful gift ideas for the holidaysThere is a great article on Medium about Minimalist Giving and more Mindful giving and so it got me to thinking… I love giving gifts but I am fully aware that “stuff” is starting to take over our lives. I know… this coming from a Gift Guide site. I want you to buy. Yes, I do. But not mindless buying… but mindful buying.

  1. I wrote a Resource Guide on living the Minimalist Life. You can download it here for free. No email necessary. Share it with others if you find it helpful… or leave me a comment and tell me what you think.
  2. Here are some cool links if after reading the article on Medium, you become interested in learning more about the 100 things challenge. (I do NOT recommend you start there. I suggest you start slower and smaller)

Buying things you really love, value or find beautiful or useful are the best ways to spend your money and give gifts. I stress consumables, edibles and experiences as the ultimate in gift-giving. I give gifts out of love being very mindful of the recipient, as I want the gifting experience to always be special and not boring or taken for granted.

Also, as much as I love shopping, I hate useless stuff. If it doesn’t bring you (or them) joy and instead more “stuff” stresses you out- it defeats the purpose. So with that in mind… here are my top picks and ideas for mindful and meaningful giving… for this holiday and every holidays. This list of gifts are timeless!

Gift giving is truly an art. My husband was truly amazing in that capacity. So many of his holiday gifts made me cry because he paid such close attention to what the one thing I really wanted was. A couple of times the gifts he bought were things I’d missed out on and he went to the trouble to search ebay or drive all over the state to find them for me. I can’t tell you how much that meant to me. I have always been a good listener (with a good memory) so I’m usually pretty skilled at filing things away when I’m around friends and family too.

You always seem to know exactly what I’m looking for. I’ve been trying to decide on gifts for everyone that is meaningful and easy on the pocket book. I hate how commercialized our society has seemingly become that it is sometimes frustrating. However, I recognize that I have talents that can never be purchased in a store and gifts to give that wouldn’t exist without me. Thank you for helping and being an inspiration in my life.
